UNYTEA to Owens: Who are you kidding?

Our Congressman was recently quoted as decrying the political deadlock in Washington.

He specifically cited Members of Congress on both sides of the aisle, who ignore the facts and act on ideology instead.

This from the man who voted for Obama Care, not once, but twice, simply because Nancy Pelosi told him to do so.

He ignored the new taxes on insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, and medical equipment manufacturers that come with Obama care.

He ignored the fact that you and I must now pay those taxes.

He voted his ideology instead.

Our Congressman supported the NLRB's decision to go after Boeing, because they constructed a plant in a right-to-work state.

He ignored that fact that thousands of jobs would be created, and voted his ideology instead.

Congressman Owens voted for a two month cut in payroll taxes, when he could have supported a one year extension.

He ignored the fact that middle class tax payers would benefit and voted his ideology instead.

He pretends to oppose a raise in the debt ceiling while supporting one spending bill after another.

He ignores the fact that you can’t have it both ways.

He votes his ideology instead.

And now, Congressman Owens expects you to conclude that he is above the political bickering.

He’s hoping you’ll ignore the facts.

Not hardly.

Party Bosses Out of Touch, and Line

If you’ve been reading the papers, you may have noticed that most of the GOP chairs

in NY’s 23rd Congressional District, have now personally endorsed Doug Hoffman’s

opponent. Some have even managed to bring along with them, the members of their

respective County Committees.

Sadly, they are on the verge of making the same mistake they made in last year’s special

election. You may recall that their choice for our next U.S. Congressman was Dede

Scozzafava, a Republican in name only (RINO) who ultimately dropped out of the

race and endorsed Democrat Bill Owens. It was an act of treachery which cost

Doug Hoffman the election.

The party bosses do not have the right to select our next congressman. We the people do that.

A recent McLaughlin and Associates poll shows that Doug Hoffman is beating Matt

Doheny, by a margin of two and a half to one. It is four to one if you poll just the

Conservatives. This is clear and convincing evidence that the party bosses are out of

touch with rank and file Republicans.

Both Mr. Hoffman and UNYTEA have amassed a small army of volunteers.

Together we have placed Doug Hoffman on the September primary ballot and

together, we will send Doug Hoffman to congress.

And when Doug takes the oath of office as our next congressman, maybe then,

the party bosses will understand that they don’t call the shots any more.

From now on, the American voters are in charge.

“Fools”, “simpletons”, “Neanderthals”, “heel clicking-goose stepping puppeteers”, “jerks”, “bozos”, “know nothings”, “ignoramuses”, and “stooges”.

These are just a few of the epithets hurled at the Upstate New York Tea Party, as a result of our Press Conference on last Friday.

About 40 of our 450 plus supporters joined me in a declaration of “political war” against Bill Owens, our newly elected Congressman.

Owens, after less than 100 days in office, has managed to vote for more than a trillion dollars in new spending.

It calculates out to about 8 million dollars for every minute of every hour of every day since he first took office on November 6, 2009.

But as you can see from our critics’ responses, UNYTEA has yet to elicit an intellectual response to our arguments about out-of-control government spending.

Our nation’s unfunded liabilities (the difference between what we will collect versus what we will pay out as a result of Social Security, Medicare, and the Drug Prescription  program) now exceeds 107 trillion dollars, an amount which is greater than ten times the size of our entire economy. There is no solution in sight.

We are headed for a financial Armageddon which could catapult our country into an economic abyss. And our opponents respond with grade school taunts.

I am pleased that in the face of our criticisms, these tax and spend advocates are bereft of anything which remotely resembles an intelligent argument.

But I fear for a nation whose citizens would, without objection, walk blindly down the road toward economic suicide.

May God help us and may He continue to bless the United States of America.

The race for the New York 23rd congressional Seat is now well underway.

All four of the “unannounced” candidates for the GOP nod to oppose the incumbent (Big Spending Bill Owens) have reached out to UNYTEA and I’m pleased to report that we have already achieved two significant victories.

First, all four have pledged to be fiscal conservatives if elected. Secondly, all four have agreed to attend the Candidates Forum we will host in late March or early April of this year….Stay tuned for details!

Many of you have asked me if I was headed to Nashville to see Sarah Palin at the Tea party Convention…..and while the trip would have been a pleasant one,  the fact remains that UNYTEA’s resources are as yet meager and we are saving our pennies for the battle which lies ahead.

In addition, and as previously stated, we have not yet seen the need to formally affiliate with any other tea party group in the state or nation…a decision which is in keeping with the thinking of our counterparts around the country…..We are NOT a political party. We are independent and we shall remain so!

BTW, if you’re wondering what you can do for UNYTEA, feel free to explore this website (New and Improved, thanks to Mike Gallagher and Brian McBride!) and pay special attention to our list of “Ten Things You Can Do” to help UNYTEA.

I would love to hear from you (unytea@yahoo.com) and look forward to seeing most of you at our next gathering!

As ever

Chairman
