The Upstate New York Tea Party (UNYTEA) was born in the aftermath of a Tea Party Rally which took place on July 4th, 2009, at Trinity Park in Plattsburgh.

Jonathan Nelson of West Chazy was the organizer of that day’s festivities which attracted more than 200 supporters from all over Clinton, Essex, and Franklin counties.

UNYTEA’s current Chairman, Mark L. Barie was a Guest Speaker on that fateful day and in short order the two activists began working together to organize what is now the Upstate New York Tea Party.

Today, we have over 1,000 people on our roster.  We have sponsored numerous Candidates Forums including several Gubernatorial candidates, U.S. Senate Candidates, as well as NY 23rd's Congressional Candidates.
