As promised, after a much needed rest in 2011, UNYTEA, and Chairman Mark L. Barie, are now ready for the 2012 elections.

As we celebrate the New Year, it is important to reflect not only on the past year, but on the past four. 

Since 2008 we have witnessed some of the most onerous legislation ever pass into law.  “Obama Care”, the Dodd-Frank bill, the American Recovery Act, and countless additional regulations have all helped to create a government that plays a daily role in the average American life…something our Founding Fathers feared most. The Nanny State run amok.

America is at a crossroads.  Either we continue on a path of deficit spending, big government policies, and anemic economic growth, or we take back what was once ours. 

As Americans we are afforded the opportunity to do well in whatever we choose. And should we become successful; our government should have no role in regulating or redistributing the fruits of our success.  Unfortunately, Washington has forgotten this.  They have forgotten that the money they spend is our money. They have forgotten that government isn’t supposed to be an obstacle to small business owners or even big business owners. Indeed, they have forgotten the  very reasons our Founding Fathers declared independence from King George in 1776.

The Founding Fathers fought for our freedom with bullets and bayonets. 

Our weapons of choice will be our voices and our votes. 

And we will prevail.

UNYTEA cannot change the course of this country by itself, but with your help, we can change the course of history in NY-23.  With Tea Parties across the nation we will remind our friends in Washington that ours is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.
